Chickens:)

Bought this pattern at Red Rooster Quilt shop awhile ago. Had this project almost done but needed a little finishing. So finished up today. 1st pic is case closed. 2nd pic is it opened up showing back. 3rd pic shows it opened up on the inside of sewing kit.
It holds needles, pins, a tiny cutting board, scissors and whatever you need to have for sewing on the go. I messed up the part with the zipper. I sewed it on wrong. Still works but off center.

Also pulled out a old project I forgot about that I started with friend Delana in 2012.
Delana posted that she was finishing up hers and that motivated me to find mine.
1st pic is from pattern in magazine.
This next picture is all the pieces I have finished. I have the pincushion, scissor fob, all done and ready to put together.
The needle book is almost done. The front is complete but still need to finish some for back.
I started the top yesterday for the sewing box.I already have cording to put together.
Want to finish by Christmas so maybe my hubby will surprise me with the shaker sewing box and shaker pin cushion box as gift. They cost a lot. Around 200.00 for both. Wow...but so worth it after all of the hard work making them. But wanted to finish before I get them.

Crazy week

Here are two of my Lucy Boston blocks that I have sewn together by hand. It is taking a lot longer than I expected. Lol
When I first started this quilt I found a really cool cream/ beige fabric that i thought would look good  for the border . Decided to only get 1 yard of material to see if  it would work. On Sunday started adding around one of the blocks and decided I really love the colors all together. So Monday I went to a quilt shop in Waldo Ohio called Serendipitee and bought more for quilt.
While I was there I found this barn quilt book. I have always loved old barns. So you know me.... had to get. Also ordered another barn book that came in mail today. Can't wait to start a quilt using both of these books.
On Tuesday I canned 8 more Quarts of Apple pie filling. We have 4 apple trees and this is the 1st year one is producing apples. I am so glad all 4 didn't produce this year. But next year we will have apples out our ears. Lol
Last Thursday and Friday I went to Michigan with Bruce for his work and while I was there found a great antique/craft shop and found a lot of antique buttons that I'm still sorting thru. Finding some really cool ones and looking up on internet.
Here is a picture from the Lucy Bostons book that I said on my last post that I would post to give you a idea of what I am making,

Can we say hexagons?

It's been awhile! But my buddy Delana has inspired me to blog again.
I've been quilting a lot lately and been working on Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses.
It's a very long process. First you start with a 1 inch template.

Then you choose fabric and trace then cut.
Then I used fabric glue to tack down edges on back.
You make a lot of these. I mean ALOT!
Then I used a print out and taped down pieces how I want them and put in protector page.
Here is all of the blocks ready to sew. And I mean hand sew. Crazy am I:)
I still have to cut about 500 more for border and around each block and also have to cut little squares to put in also. I just started sewing.
On the next 2 pics is where I sewed together 2 and sewing all together on 1st block.I'm getting about 30 to 32 stitches  a inch. Wow! This is gonna take forever.lol
I'm doing mine in all creams and reds. Pics don't do it Justice:)
I will post a pic of cover of book pic.  so you can see end result. I was going for a queen size and now .........well.......
Wall hanging size. Lol
